Bob and Betty Dorr became involved in PFLAG after their son came out to them. Years later, their son passed away. After some of their friends suggested they no longer have a reason to be a part of PFLAG, Betty countered:
I had people ask or say to me, “Well you don’t really need to do this anymore because you lost your son.” And I said, “Actually, I didn’t lose my son because I gained so many sons in the last 20 years from all over the country that they needed to know there were parents that supported them.”
Betty goes on to discuss one adopted son in particular from Brazil that views them as his parents. Continue Reading to watch Bob and Betty’s story.
