This Week’s Stories.

May 4 – May 10

I’m From Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Now this was a historic occasion for me and my boyfriend of 8 years as we decided to tie the knot, and share in the marital bliss of our heterosexual counter parts.

I’m From Jacksonville, FL. My sixth grade Hebrew class was the first place in Jacksonville that I’d have my first head-on experience with homophobia. My older classmate Sara was thoughtful enough to inform me that I was a “Gay Boy”.

I’m From Cava dei Tirreni, Salerno, Italy. I’ve never told my whole family that I was gay. But when I met my first boyfriend, probably the only one that I’ve loved (so far), I was completely happy. I called my sister to share my happiness.

I’m From Buenos Aires, Argentina. We lived together, shared breakfasts, kisses, siestas, dreams and some lies. Sure the breakup was awful, sad, and even violent…but also inevitable.

I’m From Florence, SC. Being in love is what determined my sexuality. I never understood why I was called homosexual when that term felt so limiting after falling in love. How about homosensual?

FEATURED ARTIST: I’m From Troy, OH. Looking back over the past decade, the 3 years of my life here in DC seem almost idyllic. I think that’s because, for the first time in my life, I am at peace with myself.

VIDEO STORY: I’m From Memphis, TN. I always try to make a point that, yeah, I’m from the South and I’m gay and I grew up and I’m okay, you know, and it wasn’t horrible.
