I grew up in a small town of less than 2,000 people. It had no traffic lights, and is parceled by two beautiful rivers. My father was born here and my grandfather was the first telephone repairman for the area. I remember making best friends with someone and at the age of sixteen, I knew I could love him. We spent all of our time together, wrestled in the basement of my home, swam at 3am in his outdoor pool, the steam wisping into the cool night air and then going for greasy cheeseburgers at the 24-hour Valleyview Café. As we grew up, he moved away but I still think of him and wonder where he is today. Ahhh, the feeling of our first true love…
